An ambassador’s apartment

The bed is from a ‘house of pleasure’ in Canton, the red armoire is from Sichuan and the chairs belonged to concubines in a Peking palace. On the walls are the robes of Mandarins and more costumes from 18th century China. But the architecture is Moroccan: the window panes are of Iraqi coloured glass and the ancient floor mosaics are in black and white. This elegant suite comprises four rooms and opens onto the Andalusian garden and the river.
There is a 180x200cm double bed as well as the Chinese enclosed bed of 130x200cm.
